Welcome to Class -Plan for Module 1

Welcome to occupational therapy! We are all excited to have you join our community of learners. You will find that you have to be really organized to manage your new role as a student along with all the other work and home roles that you have in your life. The good news is that all your life experiences should be helpful in understanding the materials in this course. The challenge, however, is to Get Organized!!

I will try to help you out by posting weekly “to do” lists, but ultimately you need to develop an organizational system in which you can keep track of assignments, due dates and activities. Also, you need to block out time on your calendar every week when you can have uninterrupted time to read, think, write and complete both on ground and online activities that are part of this course.

To Do List

Take a tour of the buttons and do some things, including

Syllabus
- Find the syllabus and print it out. Look over the topical outline at the end. Each week this info will be repeated in that week’s module, but this is your best place to get an overview.
- All your assignment due dates will show up here as well as in weekly modules and the home page
Weekly Modules
- Your assignments each week will be here, along with links to lectures, power points, required resources, discussions, etc. I will add these as we go along.
- Do the assignments, discussions, readings and documents as noted each week. You should generally have these done before we meet on ground each Thursday, and as directed in your labs. Most importantly, the readings!

Settings-

Go into settings and put in a photo of yourself so we can recognize you. Also, you should change your settings to daily notifications so you don’t miss anything. You do that with the little “cogwheel” on the right!

On Ground Class on Saturday this week!
Note that each "Notes of the Week" will end with a packing list for your on-ground class. Beware, as there are lots of moving pieces in this Foundations course. I will tell you specifically what materials and assignments need to be with you in class.
